Two people shot dead and multiple injured after gunman opens fire following dispute with co-worker

Two people have been shot dead and as many as 10 injured after a fired employee returned to his former workplace and reportedly shot his manager outside the Empire State Building.

Shots rang out just before 9 a.m. after the man stalked his colleague down a busy New York street before shooting him dead and opening fire indiscriminately on passersby, the New York Post reported.

Four people were shot and a total of 10 people suffered injuries in the gunfire outside the iconic New York City skyscraper. Two people, believed to be the manager and gunman, were killed.

NYPD officers swooped on the scene on foot and one, who was part of the Critical Response Vehicle unit, shot the gunman dead with a single shot.
