A bulldog shot its owner recently in the leg with a handgun, police reports can confirm.
Gregory Lanier, 35, from Florida was driving his pickup truck when the dog kicked the handgun on the raised floor section between the passenger and driver’s seat .
He
thought it was unloaded but soon discovered the 9mm Beretta had at a
bullet inside as it discharged and struck him in the left calf.
He
reportedly told police he “heard a boom, saw smoke and felt a burning
in his leg” as the bullet penetrated and then exited his leg hitting the
door panel on the other side.
According to reports, Lanier drove his Ford F250 to a nearby petrol station owned by a friend who called for emergency personnel.
Police reports
said Lanier told his friend the dog was jumping around in the truck and
kicked the upholstered weapon. He also had a rifle in the truck, which
he said was unloaded.
Sebring Police spokesman, Steve Carr said
the bulldog was taken to a friend’s home. Lanier on the other hand was
rushed to hospital for treatment.
