We learnt Fashanu's testimony helped his case a bit. The former international football star gave a glowing testimony in support of his friend and the judge admitted it as 'new evidence' and adjourned for almost two hours saying he had to re-write his already written sentence.
After sentencing him to 13 years, the judge said Ibori's assets would be confiscated.
