KANO—Two
adults believed to be in their thirties, suspected to be lovers, were
found dead in a car at the premises of Malam Aminu Kano Teaching
Hospital, Kano State, Monday night. The two lovers were identified by
relations as Najeeb Yunusa, General Manger, Azman Filling Station,
Abuja, and Nadiya Abdu of Gwamamja quarters, Kano.
Nadiya’s
half brother, Jamilu who was in the hospital to collect the corpse for
burial told Vanguard: “Nadiya left home on Friday evening by 4.00pm on a
visit to relations within the city.”
Jamilu
said Nadiya, mother of a seven-year-old girl was due to pay a
condolence visit to her former husband who lost his father recently. He
added that other younger ones, who made the visit reported that she was
picked up by her acquaintance at her sister’s house.
He
said: “Nadiya got missing last Friday and we understood some one we
knew as her acquaintance picked her up at a relation’s residence inside
the city and could not make it to her former husband’s residence on a
condolence visit.”
Kano
Police spokesman, Deputy Superintendent Tanimu Dutse, while confirming
the incident, said that investigation has commenced to unravel the
mystery surrounding their death.
Dutse
said the result of the autopsy conducted on the deceased lovers was
being awaited at the time of this report, adding that the report would
assist the investigative team in arriving at their conclusions.
